New York City Subway Stations, Murals and People

Opened on October 27, 1904 is the largest subway in the world with 472 stations in operation.

There are countless stations, and each is distinct, with different character, murals and people. A photographer can play with the shadows, motion, tiled walls and the edgy feel each station offers. Most of all, it is the city beneath the city, home to a dizzying variety of colorful New Yorkers and characters. If you want the true “vibe” of the city, go under the sidewalks!
