Any Place!

While New York offers countless hidden gems as locations for photographers, some of the best experiences can be found simply by hitting the streets. I can take you there, and teach you how to see New York as a street photographer does. Nearly a hundred years ago, with the invention of 35mm cameras, French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson defined street photography by what he called, “the decisive moment”—the moment of magic when the unpredictable happens. This approach to photography is all about capturing life in its truest and rawest form. No fancy studio lights. No posed portraits. A street photographer’s mission is to capture spontaneous images of the city and its people—and no city on earth has a more colorful collection of people. The techniques can be challenging and take years to master—but it’s fun right from the start!
